Knysna

Anchorage – The Anchorage is a traditional seafood restaurant situated in the heart of Knysna with ample parking and access. The restaurants has been around for the past 20 years running under the same ownership making the Anchorage the oldest restaurant in Knysna.

Café Mario – This authentic Italian Café gastronomically infuses the palate with traditional Italian cuisine located on Hedge Street, with plenty of parking right outside. Considered by many as the most popular restaurant in town, Café Mario serves intimate meals and hearty breakfasts complimented by reasonable Italian wines. A wonderful place to linger the day away, people watching and indulging in flavour infused Italian faire.

Cruise Cafe – This restaurant is known for its fresh seafood and modern styled cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere with exceptional views of the Knysna Lagoon.

East Head Café – East Head Café is more than just a café or coffee shop, it is a local landmark where family and friends have a good time with good food and casual wine enjoying life. Situated on the rocks of the famous Eastern Head, East Head Café has the most spectacular view – looking directly through the Knysna Heads.

Muse Fusion Food – Fusion cooking is a mixing of food cultures and cuisines. It is about taking the best of two or more culinary disciplines, combining them and finding a delicious hybrid. Come enjoy the vibrant local Knysna atmosphere and hospitality.

The Island Café – This 90 seat restaurant at The Turbine Hotel creates a totally unique environment for all meals. Tables overlook the canal, pool deck or are nestled between the original refurbished turbines. Warm open fireplaces and majestic sliding glass doors allow us to maximize and match the ambience and weather conditions. The Island café has won the prestigious 2012 Diners Club Platinum Award for its wine list.

Chatters – Situated in Knysna, Chatters is a small, owner-run restaurant with a lot of vibe. Famous along the Garden Route for the made-to-order, thin-n-crispy pizzas from the traditional wood-fired oven, but the restaurant offers a much wider variety of home-made burgers, delicious pastas, potato bakes, salads and filled paninis.

Wine Tours – in the heart of the Garden Route. Pick up from your accommodation and enjoy a 4 – 5 hour guided tour through some of the new wine estates that can be found on the Garden Route. Alternatively, you can arrange a wine tasting for friends or fellow guests at home.

Nonna’s Mediterranean Kitchen at The Bodega – Located in the leafy suburb of Leisure Island with plenty of parking. Have a decent size cup of coffee and enjoy the ever changing menu. From conception to execution, Nonna’s combines an array of ingredients and cooking techniques along with culinary talent and sincere hospitality so guests can enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Oak Leaf Brunch Café – located in Belvidere. Really interesting and tasty menu, delicious fresh ingredients and there is even a menu for dogs. Just a lovely environment with loads of parking.

Belvidere Manor – with its two great meal options, i.e. The Bell (the oldest pub in Knysna) and Carolines for fine dining. Enjoy one of the most beautiful views over the Knysna Estuary.

Bao Wow – located in The Foundation building on Main Street is a successful bao and Asian fusion restaurant.

Blend Country Restaurant – located on George Rex Drive. Knysna’s favourite restaurant and pub for the whole family! Offering the best food, vibe and entertainment.

Freshline Fisheries – Enjoy a wide selection of seafood dishes on our beach! The outdoor beach sand restaurant, voted No1 Seafood restaurant in Knysna, is perfect for a casual meal with friends and family. Unlicensed so bring your own alcohol.

Buffalo Bay

Wildside Beach Restaurant – Rustic beach restaurant at the popular Buffalo Bay. Good food, cozy vibe and a lot of soul! Oh, and have we mentioned the views. Bring your own booze as we are currently unlicensed.

Buffelsbaai Waterfront Restaurant – Delight in a seafood platter while sipping chilled Cape wines and watching the dolphins and whales play in the bay. Taste our local beer, chilled to perfection and tuck into one of the best Sunday buffets in the area.

Montecello – Great for prawns!

Pili Pili Beach Restaurant – With our “Forever Summer” vibe and smiling, helpful staff, you can kick off your shoes and really relax. Decadent Cocktails and a variety of Craft Beers served ice cold for the grown-ups while the kids are having a ball (or a Pizza), there’s a good time to be had by all.

Trattoria da Vinci – Best Pizza in the world. Mouth-watering salads and pastas to die for. Friendly and efficient service.

Rheenendal

The Cowshed at Portland Manor – A brand new rustic, country restaurant, the Cowshed, is open on weekends from Friday to Sunday. Chef Desmond Morgan’s all-day menu features wholesome breakfasts and fire-based lunch and dinner dishes prepared with the freshest local ingredients in the wood-fired outdoor ovens, including artisanal pizzas, fire-grilled chicken, rump steak and glazed pork belly. There are also vegetarian options and scrumptious desserts.
