Hide Away Guest House

Hide Away Guest House nestles on the banks of the Knysna estuary with stunning views of the Knysna Heads. Managed by South African owners Cecil and Colleen Harding, this striking Cape Colonial-style guest house offers a variety of rooms, ranging from Executive with lagoon view to Standard with no lagoon view and thus caters for most budgets.  Accommodation is provided on a bed and breakfast basis.

All rooms are fitted with air conditioning, fan, Netflix, mini safe, mini bar, hairdryer, complimentary tea/coffee tray and gowns. Complimentary wireless internet (WiFi) is available in all rooms and public areas.  Secure off-street parking, a small swimming pool and gym are available for guests.

Hide Away Guest House prides itself on trading as a sustainable tourism provider and a number of initiatives have been implemented to save water, energy and recycling waste.

Hide Away is within easy walking distance of the centre of town and the Knysna Waterfront, and we welcome you to explore and experience the excitement of Knysna.  On arrival and over a cup of tea or coffee, Cecil & Colleen will provide you with information on all the restaurants and activities in the area to make planning your stay with them that much easier.

The town itself is cradled between the Knysna estuary and ancient indigenous forests surrounded by miles of Cape fynbos and pristine beaches. Knysna offers a variety of water- and land-based activities while remaining South Africa’s favourite leisure destination on the Garden Route.  And, as Knysna is centrally located on the Garden Route, it is the ideal base from which to explore the rest of this fascinating region, as well as areas of the Klein Karoo. When travelling between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth (or vice versa), Knysna is the logical stop!  Plan a minimum of 2 nights but preferably longer.

We unfortunately do not accept children under the age of 12 and pets cannot be accommodated. We are a LGBTQ+ friendly establishment.
